(This review is also posted in goodreads.) Free e-books, and some pricey ones for that matter, don't guarantee a good read, so I was kind of worried at the start of this story. Thank goodness it went beyond the usual boy-meets-girl and there's something fishy going-on plot. With the exception of some typo errors and a few disorienting scene & time transitions, the story was entertaining and satisfying enough that I didn't have any questions to ask by the end of the story but this --when's the next book?Orphaned at 16, Evie is now living with an unsympathetic Grandma at Benair Falls. If there's one thing she likes about that, it's she's always left on her own, and she is close to a park with access to wooded hiking trails. This is where she meets Lucas who, to Evie's surprise, is also a new student in Benair High. From there, I start to wonder with Evie what kind of "not normal" Lucas is, especially when a series of little and not so little "not normal" things are happening whenever Lucas is around.
Lucas & Evie are characters I feel eager to follow in a story that unfolds fast but unhurried. The world they inhabit is not hard at all to imagine, thanks to the author's descriptive style and language. The most distinct scene for me is Lucas' confession, of course. I suspected he was the e.t. kind (!!!) so it bowled me over to learn otherwise, Another visible moment for me is when Evie and her companions first crossed The Veil. It was adeptly depicted that I can easily picture and imagine how it felt like to go through Faery world from the Human world. YES, it's another fairy story, BUT somehow I prefer this not magical but scientific interpretation of the Faery World where Lucas is the son of the Great Lord of the elfin race. In 3 volumes, Evie goes through a lot since loosing her parents, and the storyline just keeps getting better in each. Well done!

Whispers in the Woods the Complete Collection An Elfkin Novel eBook TJ Dell Reviews
It was a very good trilogy i wish there was more or make a second series about them lol this is about love and seeing through the charm of the person you love and there is hurt and pain but you can work through it.It was a good fantasy book.
I think it was a great book. Small grammar errors here and their but no big deal. I was at aww constantly, I love the whole idea of an elf having a connection with a human. How the were Bonded(elf married) with out intention but i believe it was meant to be of course ) Its a very cute book and i always wanted to keep reading and i could not get enough.
This was a very fun vacation read and I loved Evie's sarcastic thoughts and asides, and Lucas and Carter cracked me up.
What I especially liked was that Evie was a take-charge kind of heroine. She was thrown into a world she didn't understand, filled with all sorts of mystery and questions and still she kept it together. Two words pinky finger.
enjoyed the book and the characters. i am not one to write reviews but i like to ratethem so i remember that i have already read the book when i go through my library
I read this whole collection last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! Would Love to see more books about these characters and what happens when the war between them and the enemy finally happens. Will they go back to faery and fight with their family, will they stay in the human realm, what happens when the family realizes that he turned her from human to elfin? Many many scenarios that could happen and would love to see what does!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoy the love story between an Elf and a human. The characters really touch you with their love, what they do for each other and the friendship in their human friends and family circle, the romantic wedding. Everything in this book speaks romance and magic what else can you ask?
There is no more stars to rate this book otherwise I will give it ten just because it is a fantastic book.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance, magic and friendship
I enjoyed the storyline of human-elfkin bonding, but the story seemed to end abruptly after 3 volumes. The characters seemed so richly crafted that I wanted to have more access to the potentially "unpacking of the Lucas and Evie adventures in The Veil. I hope more books are to come because the tale left me wanting. These were the first books I read by TJ Dell. I really came about them rather by coincidence. That's it, I hope to read more about the Faery realm.
